If anything Neji would be infuriatingly practical in a relationship. We're talking stiff 'ah, this is the part where I am supposed to do this...' awkwardness. Flowers and chocolates he is not made of. Romeo he is also not. (Two houses, divided by--no.)
Best example I can think of in a fic that takes the stereotypes and runs with them: Hinata's jilted by Neji (for, all of reasons, him going off and marrying someone the clan told him to marry without any violent or at least very vocal protest whatsoever) and her first course of action is to run off and sleep with Naruto. And I'm left going '?!?'! Who are these people and where did they put the real Hyuga? To be fair though, the fic itself was translated from another language, and with a good betareader some parts of it seemed like they would work well--but the issues with the characterization stand. And I'm ranting too but uh, yeah. Squicky hetship. Rampant OOCness in a serious fic=much hair pulling.
