Jun. 24th, 2003 01:58 amSenior dinner went well. Had fun, actually. Good company, good--er, didn't touch the food, but as most ate it and lived I assume it was good food. An old crush showed up, but we behaved ourselves and acted like civil adults, so no dramatics to speak of. There was a great amusement factor of being given what appeared to be giant shot glasses as a gift from the school.
I found myself glancing at the translations of the latest Inuyasha chapter. I have a soft spot for that series, as it was my first contact with manga, and I check up on it out of an old sense of loyalty, but yeee gads looking at it now I realize how utterly DOPEY it is. Let's see, problems at the beginning of the series--find the jewel shards, Kikyou or Kagome! Defeat Naraku! ...Problems twenty-something volumes later. Find the jewel shards! Kikyou or Kagome! Defeat Naraku! Lather, rinse, repeat. Emphasis on the repeat. x.x Kagome gets posessed. Sango gets posessed. ...And frankly, Kagome's saintly patience wears on my nerves. Although I admit, I do kind of like the recent developments between her and Kikyou. But then, I like Kikyou.
...And now, for something entirely different: ....I want to see the Gensoukai arc of Yami no Matsuei animated. So badly. TOUDA. SUZAKU. KURIKARA. Sohryu animated period, as he kinda got stiffed in the Kyoto arc, in which he DID show up in the manga (breifly), but not in the anime. I also find myself weeping for general the lack of Touda x Suzaku pr0n in the world. As well as for the abundance of dewy eyed delicate uke Hisoka fics. I like my Hisoka snarly with serious control issues. The boy's got a dick, folks. And hell, if he isn't trying to assert his manliness with the whole Shikigami envy thing he has going I don't know WHAT that is. 'I want a shikigami as big as Tsuzuki's! NOW!'
And now for something not so different, I find myself hit with some old MU* nostalgia, and wishing there was a decent Naruto one out there. I mean, the world itself COULD possibly translate pretty well into one--and then I remember the general problems those things tend to be plagued by and I cringe but still, it's nice when one does not think too deeply about it.
