Jul. 17th, 2003 02:01 amIt seems that Anko and Izumo are the same age. I suppose it stands to reason they may have been in the same year together in Academy? Also interesting that Kotetsu is younger. Minor character rant ahead.
I've always pictured Kotetsu and Izumo as something like the Weasley twins of the Leaf Village. A pair a ninja with a very wicked collective sense of humor. They looooove screwing with people. Especially younger ninja. Always have. The role of Examiner was just right for them--they like inspecting the fresh meat. Call bets on who makes it and who doesn't. Genin are some of the most fun to play with.
Kotetsu, to the hapless victim, seems the milder of the two-and most people make the mistake of assuming that makes him the one to turn to if they're expecting mercy. That, however, is not the case. He's calm, collected...Sometimes with an almost feline air of dignity, but he's the guy chuckling between closed lips while you're flailing helplessly. There might POSSIBLY be some Inuzuka blood in him. Somewhere along the line.
Izumo is ruthless. All smirking, perky-perky, look-at-me-I'm-making-you-sweat-and-I-LOVE-it kinda way. He's the talker. He can talk at great lengths if he wants to. If Kotetsu is standing still he's the one doing a casual pace, poking around, fiddling with things...All the while never really taking his eyes off a person, and letting them KNOW this.
They've perfected their little team over the years, and quite prefer eachothers company. They live together in a large messy apartment, high up, and their neighbors either love them or hate their guts. They're pretty much overgrown kids in private. I can very easily see them playing video games while sitting on a pile of discarded clothing that really should've been swept up a long time ago. Izumo can kinda cook. Kotetsu can kinda cook. However if they make a joint effort in that something is bound to burn down. Kotetsu likes darts--since he's learned NOT to play with kunai in the house. Izumo...Well, he prefers being outside, when he can. Since when he's inside he has a bad habit of lounging around. Something that was his bane in his younger years. He could've made chuunin a lot sooner than he did, if he'd made the effort earlier.
Naruto amuses them, especially since Tsunade often sends them to haul the kid in if he's done something that warrants a talking to. They can always go for a good fox-hunt, and he makes funny noises when he's caught. Plus, he did put on a good show during the exams. Kid's got potential. Kid also knows how to laugh. They like that in a guy.
yeah, they're a real married couple sometimes.

I've discovered that sometime the other night at that point when I'm dead at my keyboard I wrote the beginnings of a schmoopy Nejihina fic. I'm not sure what to do with it. Huh.
