I think I'm the only person in the world who squees more over the Disney characters in KH than the Square crew
“Are you staring at me?”
He was staring. His eyes were on the Beast’s shoulder. Sora blinked out of it, frowning. “...I can Heal--”
“It’s fine,” said the Beast curtly, flowing ahead of the boy in two stubborn steps. “Don’t stare. I don’t like it. You’re fortunate.”
“I am?”
“That I met her before I met you.” The rumble in his voice faded with the ‘her’. He curled his hands over edges his cape and pulled it around himself. “I…hrm.” He stopped.
Sora smiled as he trotted back up to his companion’s side. “I know,” he said. “I’m worried about my friends too.”
The Beast glanced at him, brow raised. “Your friends…” he started, and then, seeming to think better of it. “…my friend." His eyes darkened. He gave a brittle laugh that reminded Sora oddly of Riku, and the thought of him made the walls of Hollow Bastion seem higher and the absence of the Keyblade all the heavier in his hand.
“Yes,” said the Beast, with an air of helplessness that the boy didn’t understand. “Yes, she’s that.”
