So, I was browsing my old bookshelves today..

You know, it's strange, even though I haven't read the books in years, even though I haven't DARED touch the new trilogy, once and awhile I'm reminded of how much I loved the Dragonlance series. I like to say my first fandom was Buffy , and that is true, but Dragonlance was my first fangirly obsession. More specifically, Raistlin--yeah me and everyone else. Although looking back I'll also admit I have a strange love for Steel Brightblade, though that might be because the first book I ever picked up was The Second Generation--It had a pretty dragon on the cover! I had no idea I was getting into the series completely BACKWARDS. Ended up getting the Chronicles trilogy just to understand half of what was going ON, but I loved Steel. He was one of the high points in Dragons of Summer Flame (Usha being one of the lows. There's being endearingly oblivious and then there's being a total TWIT). I also seem to recall he had some of the best lines and (looking back from a different perspective then I had then) he SO could have been slashed with Palin. What? They're cousins you say? Hah. Ask me about some of my squick pairings in Naruto. I dare you.

I also loved Steel's dragon, though I can't remember her name for the life of me. I just remember her being a sadistic loyal bitch and thinking she was the coolest thing in the world. The blue dragons kicked ass in Krynn.

The Krynnish pantheon was also pretty cool. Y'see, I worked at a daycamp a couple of years ago, and I remember catching the assistant arts and crafts counseler reading the Soulforge ("...That's a good book." "You read them?!") --this is relevant in that she brought this massive book the next day filled with all sorts of information on the gods. Star charts even. Needless to say, I suffered from geek-overload that day. But boy, was it worth it.

Was his dragon Skie? Or was that Kitiara's. I know there was a blue dragon called Skie, but the only one I remember clearly is Matafleur, because she made me want to cry. ..eheheh, I have shelves dominated by those damned books. I first read Chronicles when I was 11 or so, just the right age to fall PASSIONATELY IN LOVE with Raistlin, and form a life-long attachment to the series. So I still love them now even though they're really not all that well written, because.. Raistlin! Tas! Dalamarkitiaragilthanasflintetc! The Legends trilogy, angst fangirl paradise! (My very first fanfic was a Dragonlance love triangle set on my school playground. >_< I also roleplayed for years in an irc channel set at the Palanthas Tower of High Sorcery. Dorkiness abounds.)

I think Skie was Kitiara's. Charming beast that apparently went CRAZY after she died. And Matafleur...I loved Matafleur, one of my favorite parts of Autumn Twilight..Well, that and anything involving Raistlin X3

....I had a horrible Dragonlance Mary Sue. No, I don't want to talk about her. All ya need to know was that there was a Majere in her name to WINCE.

*grin* Bingo on the squicks. Though Itasasu is more a 'Hey when he had him pinned to the wall it was kinda sexy' thing. *coughs* Neji/Hinata is...Um, actually my main squick pairing. And I swear I have some logic behind it. Really.

Ok, lessee...Sometimes Kakasasu (rarely, and no so squicky really) Have a weird thing for Sasusakunaru that I'd prolly go for a lot more if I didn't like Lee so damn much (I feel guilty!). Anko and Ibiki (they'd so be drinking buddies at least). Anko and Sasuke--though I outed myself on that one not long ago. My Tenten has a raging crush on Tsunade and once upon a time I started a fic which would've eventually paired up an older Konohamaru and Hyuga Hanabi. As for the incesty ones to which I was referring....Itasasu (sorta), and Nejihina (my big squick). Which I blame mostly on some really nice fanart I came across once upon a time.

Oooh...I can see that. Can also imagine 'em getting into a good natured debate over just how many ways one can kill a person with a paperclip. Over drinks, of course. (More than a few, as I bet Anko has a REALLY high tolerence.)
