An elegy, of sorts.

"In the decade after your departure I am not relieved in the slightest. It is possible that you have died. It has become the popular rumour that you have. Fools are inclined to comfort themselves in such untruths. I shall allow myself no such luxuries. They are beneath me, and I believe they are beneath you as well.

The biting insect is safer kept in plain sight. One who has been bitten will not be struck a second time. I have suffered the sting of your words and your games before. It will not be so again. It will never be so again. I was a child the last time we met; a condition that is on all counts a fleeting one, and one left behind with more speed then that with which you took that man from the gallows and fled. In the decade after your departure our world has been changed and unchanged. My garden remains clean and untouched. You have remained vanished in the night, the last great act of a generation that is swiftly being forgotten as time moves on and our concerns follow suit. My concerns follow suit. My regard, however, lingers on. It is an endless question upon the paper, to which I've yet to find answer. It will come. All things do. Stay hidden, Yoruichi. Stay in your wings, behind your curtains, in your theatre dark. It will not last. These things do not. Nothing ever does. I do not intend to leave this matter unfinished. We shall meet again."
