In interviews, sometimes he stands around in an open black jacket with no shirt on underneath—and it’s sort of a guarantee then that the question will come up. He shifts his weight from one hip to the other and he raps on his guitar's case and grins at their excited, done up faces. He’s gotten used to being asked about his scars.
Sometimes he says: “Truck hit me when I was five.”
And other times he says: “…yeah, decided to take up the unicycle this one time.”
Another: “Kitchen accident. Messy one. Watch that French food.”
Once, he tapped the one at the center of his chest and told them: “See, this woman who was living with me at the time? Her brother came after me with a sword and a really big dog..."
That’s the one they laugh at the most. “Mr. Kurosaki,” they say, “You do have a sense of humor. Will you ever tell anyone what really happened?”
And he arches an eyebrow and just looks amused. “Sure,” he says, “Maybe one day I will.”
