14_lyrics again. Bleach. Fifth Division...because these two are sickeningly sweet in about the worst way ever. No spoilers.



“It’s unfortunate they felt the need to quarrel in the main antechamber,” said the Captain, frowning slightly.

“Yes,” Momo agreed, winding her hands together. Another piece of the ruined ceiling fell behind her. It bounced off one of the prone officers' large, braided head—the man gave a grunt. “You don’t mind the mess that I…?”

“Someone will clean it up! …Thank you for dealing with it.” He put his hand on her shoulder.

The Vice-Captain colored immediately. “Oh. You’re welcome. But I…”

“But you?” Momo ended up dipping her head in reply, looking devoutly to her left. Aizen peered at her. “…but you are off today, Hinamori-kun.”

She said something, eyes soft and distracted.

He didn’t quite catch it. “Hm?”

“I said,” she murmured, resolved, bringing up her fingers tentatively to cover his. “I would much rather be here.”

“Hm.” Her captain looked very serious. “Well then...”

“--and, um, I think the ceiling is about to start falling again.”

Which it did. In another downpour of scorched wood and plaster, scattering across the floor. Aizen looped an arm around her and spun them out of the way. It would have made a very gallant dance step, and she flushed against the fabric of his sleeve—and then she realized there was now a sizable hole in the roof of their main hall.

“Oh. It’s nice out,” commented Aizen, lightly.

Still tucked against him, Hinamori Momo shut her eyes. “I’m sorry. I’ve really really made a mess.”

“In that case,” he continued, as though he hadn’t heard and as though they weren’t standing together at the edge of a half destroyed room. “…I think we should have tea outside today.”

With the utter cuteness and beauty of what their relationship was (because I consider all these fifth division drabbles of yours the canon-never-shown). I think every kind of unbearable fluff known to man is bearable with these two--mostly because of the end of the relationship. It cancels out all scorn or guilt for fluff.

I need to re-read this about five more times now. *happy sigh*
