moonsheen...I don't know whether love or hate the Naruto anime right now. First it gives us extra Haku backstory.... And now it gives us extra ZAKU backstory. Wow. I never thought I'd feel sorry for the guy.
It's interesting, the pattern Orochimaru seems to have for picking up his followers. When they're hard on luck and desperate--and he likes to make them come to him. It's ALWAYS their choice, of course. The hidden sound village must be an interesting place. Mismatched, nins of all shapes and sizes from all reaches of the world, and all sharing in common the fact that they are thoroughly indebted to Orochimaru for saving them/making them more than they believed would've ever been on their own. There's also probably a HELL of a lot of creepy experimentation going on there. Airholes in peoples limbs being the least of it.
"Now, live up to my expectations..." That had to be one of the CREEPIEST lines of the episode.
And for something entirely different (though not really if you think about it, I guess): ...Dragonflies have to be one of the neatest insects in existance. They're big, beautiful when they come streaking by with that breif flash of metallic blues and greens, and their natural prey is MOSQUITOS. What's not to love about them? Plus they're adorable--as my dad pointed out, they look like little helicopters.
...Then again, maybe I'm not one to judge what's cute. In first grade I was that weird girl who always wanted to hold the python's head when the nature-guy asked for volunteers, because I loved their 'kind of floppy faces!'
