Re: Matantei Loki Ragnarok ep 14

...I hereby love this series.

I sooo need to brush on up my Norse mythology. Last eps preview had me squeeing 'FENRIR!' but I entirely forgot the fact that Fenrir was one of Loki's sons. Shame on me. SHAME. But now it makes me hope that Sleipnir shows up at some point in this series. Just because it would be FUNNY AS HELL.

And Yamino just enforces my love for snake-people. Awww. Time for me to go download all those eps I'd been too lazy to get ahold of before. This one's a keeper. I have a weakness for adapted/bastardized mythology in anime. S'why I sat through Saint Seiya dubbed in French--and on that vein, when IS there going to be a shiny new anime with the Greek gods, hmm?

Dammit, now I want to draw cute schoolboy versions of all my favourite Greek deities. (At one point I actually did make a short manga of the Hades and Persephone story, but I was young and it sucked. Perhaps I should do another one, mangle the story, and add in a bunch of gay. You know, in true manga spirit!)

The Matantei Loki artbook is in my amazon.co.jp shopping cart. I am so very tempted. [weeps]

Cute schoolboy GREEK gods? Dooo iiiit. You don't even HAVE to add in a buncha gay for some of those myths. It's already there!

Hades and Persephone could make the perfect stereotypical shoujo manga romance. You've got the tall, brooding, misunderstood (really!) bishounen. The innocent, pure-hearted girl, fascinated by him despite herself--Apply liberal amounts of melodrama and a good dosage of ANGST, and ta-da!

Mmm. Loki artbook. Norse god prettiness--and, er, is it just me or do Heimdall and Freyr REALLY act like a bickering old couple sometimes? Especially in episode 9. *SNRK*
