The con then mostly consisted of a) wandering b) meeting people c) commenting with
autophanous on how hot certain cosplayers were. (that one gunner Yuna can, like, marry me basically) I think it was...Thursday? Friday maybe? We ran into annwyd nightambre and merichan across the street from the con center and hung out for a bit. Am very disappointed that I didn't get to catch up with them again. merichan's Samurai 7 cosplay looks great in the pictures. We did kidnap annwyd however and along with Chira, Eree, and me we had crabcakes in the food court on the harbor. First day we found Waldo and Carmen Sandiego (together, natch.) Second day we found
phoenixgold who was considerably trickier to spot and I think I may have startled a bit when I picked up on Eree's purloined celphone after having been nearly trampled during a Bleach photoshoot. (fact: the best Kenpachi cosplayer at this con was, like, nine years old) We also met
sarisa who basically continued to prove my theory that EVERYONE ON MY F-LIST IS HOT OKAY (eree this means you too). She was also just deeply cool and charming and hung around with us at Chira's table, later introducing me to FFXII and (chira you can stop reading here) to anyone who complains about the battle system in this game? Bite me. Just. Bite me. I can't wait for this thing to be released now. I meanwhile was distinctly disappointed by the lack of Vagrant Story cosplay. But this disappointment was somewhat sated by the fact that a) sarisa's Samantha rocked and b) I passed THAT Mullenkamp cosplayer on my way to the fountain. But seriously, VS cosplay would've made a heckuva lot more sense that the gazillion Organization members and Sephiroths bravely soldiering on in their BLACK TRENCHCOATS on three consecutively BOILING HOT DAYS. At one point, while walking over the overpass that led to the minimall across the ways, I saw Organization XIII sans only maybe two or three members marching single file along the street. They looked PRETTY DARN GOOD and they had a Lexaeus, to boot. I might've hollered down. "LEXAEUS!!!" because, um, c'mon the guy deserves some recognization and I might kinda have a big ol' fondness for Sir Not Appearing In This Sequel. re: Nazis. Right. so Eree was talking to this one Aizen cosplayer who'd stopped by Chira's table. He was with one of his friends who was (presumably. hopefully.) doing some kind of Hellsing cosplay and was thus you know. a Nazi.
They turn to leave and I turn to Eree and I say... apparently louder and more cheerfully than actually ever intended "HE'S WITH A NAZI!"
...cue laughing for about ten minutes and me never living this down, ever.
My defense however, I wasn't the one who coaxed Roy Mustang to get on his knees in front of Edward Elric and tell him he wants it like a crackbaby. (that group was so leetle though! and so earnest about warning us about the dangers of the manbearpig. they brought us flyers the next day. we were kinda FLOORED by their dedication to the cause)
Number of people who brought their dollfies: a few
Number of people who were holding their dollfies like children tucked into their arms: TOO MANY.
The Gay Lawyer Count: two Phoenixs, a Mia, and a Lana Skye. No Edgeworths, a fact I found troubling for the loss of a good old fashioned Point Off that should've been had.
Number of Blindfold Rikus: HOLY SHIT HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE?
Number of Rikus in hot topic pants: three.
Number of Rikus in properly baggy hot topic pants: ...one.
Number of Catwomans in full leather gettup with the whip and the PERFECT BODY FOR IT: One. And she was certainly enough to fill the role.
Number of hours of sleep had collectively between me, Chira, and Eree the last night of the con: Five. And those five were all had by me. I woke up to them talking about blowjobs and Jack Sparrow and having wandered around the hotel all night. I can only presume from their reports that it was quite the adventure. I will just have to comfort myself in the fact that I have a chocobo, and they do not.

Cosplay-watching is half the fun of conventions. That's pretty much all my friend and I did at the last con I went to - stole the comfy chairs in the main hallway and stared at everyone like lazy tourists. GOOD TIMES.
