Two articles on court record: in University Miles Edgeworth had a) studied law and b) been a boxer. Article A is of no surprise to anyone, and if it is they clearly have no experience in legal anything of the current day. Article B was mentioned once in an exposé and never again. The evidence for it is scant and kept in a box in storage, never to be touched upon, except by the rare schoolmate from that era with whom the prosecution never speaks, or perhaps some colleague who likes to talk about sports. Therefore, it is a surprise to some, that the prosecution was once a boxer in his university days, and once a very good one, once one who’d earned awards in it. To the defense it is not so startling. A good attorney never allows themselves to be taken by surprise. One Phoenix Wright is not necessarily a glowing example of this, but he is very good at finding the things that keep a case alive. They are this: 1) the fact that Miles Edgeworth is very good at whatever he devotes himself. 2) the fact that Miles Edgeworth has never seemed adverse to a pastime that involves punching people in the face.
