Okay. So you're a hero, see. But you're also a wolf, see. And anyway the world's been covered in this TEEMING EVIL with these nasty demons crawling all over the place, right? So you have to go and bring light back to the world! By reviving the guardian spirits all about the land! Oh, but it's okay. This little sprite thing's gonna be riding on your back giving you tips on how to do it!

I feel bad for saying this, because hey, Link's not a shabby looking wolf by any means but man he's out of shape. "What? You mean you can't just make one jump to that roof top? God, Link! Get on a treadmill!" Also I keep waiting for him to revv up and go blasting across the countryside. He never does.

Though, um. He can swim. So I guess he beats out the Sun Goddess in that regard.

Well, I suppose we can't all have the speeds of fast, faster, and TURBO -- heroes will have to make do as they can!

... and it's not like Ammy couldn't swim. It's just that she had this tendency to drown if you weren't paying attention, but it's not her fault! Rain and water is more Susano'o than her (well, mythologically), really. D:

...see, here I just thought it was the fact that her true form is probably wearing wearing a voluminous kimono. DOESN'T FLOAT WELL, THAT.

Also, every time one of the spirits of light appear in this game I keep expecting them to start with the "Ah, Amaterasu, Mother to Us All..." sphiel. And then I'm surprised when they don't.

Well, she's a warrior too -- she could wear the heavy robes when she's holding court, but she could be wearing something light and easy to run around in when she's fighting! I mean, that's what would make sense, at least.

I keep getting the "Ah, Amaterasu" speech in my head whenever I think about it for too long. Something about that sort of grandiose language really appeals to me, somehow -- look, here it is again!

I know I've seen a website that had Zelda/Okami crossovers. I think I thought it was cute, despite barely recognizing Link.

Exactly what I was thinking when I started playing. I was like "Okay, this is cool... But Okami is prettier and plays better."

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm really loving this game so far. There's a lot of neat stuff to do and it's hella fun hitting things using the Wiimote. Plus I KINDA LOVE MIDNA AND HER ITTY BITTY EVIL OVERLORD WAYS. But there are certain similiarities that just had me giggling up until you finally get changed back.

I DO LOVE MIDNA. But she is overshadowed by Link and his infuriatingly silent ways. Literally.

Also, you have a Wii, I am stuck with GC. If I could play it on Wii, I probably would have beaten the game like, twice by now, due to the incredible novelty of smacking things.
