I love how Hoshino-sensei showed us that a) not everyone is going to get a happy ending, and b) she can follow the rules she's laid out.

It's true. Then again from very early on this series has been mean when it's had to be. For all that Allen is one of the sweetest main characters in...well, anything ever the world in this series is pretty darn twisted. Bad things happen to good people. People give over their souls to bad men KNOWING what will happen. Dolls kill children. You think you've saved the day and then LAST MINUTE-- this chapter had the same punch the end of the Soman arc had. And...yeah. Woah now. It's kinda breakneck there.
